John Wilson Orchestra: Bernstein – Stage and Screen

What a wonderful week I had playing with John and the Band.  And I was lucky enough to have tremendously talented colleagues.  Reuniting with Mike Lovatt is always a joy.

Jamie and me: can’t believe we’ve been friends for over 20 years!

Mike and me...friends are everything.

I really feel Bernstein in my bones and I have lots of history with the family.  It was lovely to see Jamie Bernstein again. From singing at Lenny’s 70th Birthday Celebration at Tanglewood when I was a fellow to performing when his manuscripts were given to The Library of Congress in a glorious NYFOS concert with Steven Blier, Michael Barrett and Kurt Ollmann.  Very proud of this Royal Albert Hall debut – and thank you for all the lovely messages too!

The Daily Telegraph ★★★★★

“Lucy Schaufer and oboist John Anderson duetted tenderly in Take Care of This House, from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”

The Times ★★★★★

“the outstanding Julian Ovenden and Lucy Schaufer”

Guardian ★★★★

“Mezzo Lucy Schaufer’s generous tone impressed in Take Care of This House from Bernstein’s notorious Broadway flop 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as did her theatrical panache as the easily assimilated Old Lady in Candide.”

Edward Seckerson

“Lucy Schaufer’s heartfelt and beautifully word-poignant “Take Care of This House” and insanely hyper “Island Magic”.”
